Speaking of the bulletin board, at the last annual meeting, it was _very_ clear that condo owners wanted the minutes to be distributed and/or mailed to them. There was one newsletter-type reporting of the minutes taped in the lobby after that meeting, then Nothing!
What is the board doing to make sure that the association members are informed of what is going on in this building?
Where is the transparency?
Why don't the owners have any say in how this building is run?
I asked David this question about 5 days before the recent meeting, and he said we wouldn't want to read all the trivia that comes up in the monthly meetings--thereby sidestepping the question of the annual meeting minutes. He suggested that if we felt out of the loop we should all read our CR&Rs--but those aren't even accurate! For example, D. told us that the move-in fee was now $250, raised from the $100 that we paid a couple of years ago--yet our brand-new CR&R document still has $100. I asked who makes these decisions and he said the raise was approved at a general meeting a couple of years ago, or maybe last year--does anyone remember that? Feels like this stuff gets made up! And where does the money go?
